A Booksy alternative, priced in Australian dollars
Booksy publishes no Australian pricing — its AU business site redirects to US dollars — and Boost takes 30% of a new client’s first visit. Bookka is A$39 a month flat, in AUD, with no commission.
Switch if
You are paying per chair and giving Booksy 30% of every new client Boost sends you, and you would rather not be billed in US dollars.
Stay on Booksy if
Boost is genuinely filling your column. It reaches further than Bookka’s marketplace, and a 30% one-off on a first visit can still pay for itself.
How the two price lists differ
Start with the thing that is easy to miss: Booksy does not publish an Australian price list. It has an Australian business site — booksy.com/biz/en-au, which announces itself as the "au" market — and that page carries no prices and no link to any. Add /pricing to it and you get a 404. Ask for pricing another way and you land on biz.booksy.com, quoted in US dollars: US$29.99 a month for the first person and US$20 for everyone after them, plus tax. There is a UK site with pounds on it. There is no Australian one.
We are not going to convert those figures for you and present the result as what Booksy charges. Pick your own exchange rate and you get a precise-looking Australian number that Booksy has never charged anybody. So on this page Booksy’s figures stay in the currency Booksy published them in, and the comparison shows what we can stand behind rather than a total we made up.
Bookka is A$39 a month for up to five people and A$69 for up to twenty, billed in Australian dollars by an Australian company, with your marketplace listing included and no commission on new clients. Booksy’s Boost takes 30% of a new client’s first visit, capped at US$100.
Why salons leave Booksy
The reasons people actually give, in the order they tend to give them.
- Priced in US dollars, with no Australian list
- US$29.99 for the first team member and US$20 for each one after, plus tax — and what that lands on your card in a given month depends on the exchange rate and your bank. Bookka is A$39 or A$69, the same number every month.
- Boost takes 30% of a first visit
- Boost is free to switch on and then takes 30% of a new client’s first appointment, capped at US$100. It is genuinely optional, and for a new chair it can pay for itself. But 30% is the highest new-client commission of any platform on this page, and Bookka’s is zero.
- Per-head pricing from the second person
- The base price covers one person. A five-chair shop is US$29.99 + four lots of US$20. Bookka includes five people at A$39 and twenty at A$69.
- Card rates are the highest here
- Booksy publishes 2.69% + US$0.30 on mobile and keyed-in payments and 2.49% + US$0.10 on its card reader. Bookka uses Stripe’s Australian rates — about 1.7% + A$0.30 online with a 1.3% platform fee, and no Bookka fee at all on in-person payments.
- No online shop, social scheduler or ads manager
- Booksy’s included feature list has no retail shop, no social post scheduler and no advertising manager. Bookka has all three, the last on the Executive plan.

The part a price list cannot show you
The table can only compare what you can buy on both sides. These come with Bookka Business and Booksy does not offer them at all, so they never appear as a line — and they are the ones that decide whether a client books again.

Being found, being chosen, and being talked about — without paying a commission on the people it works on.

Moving across from Booksy
You do not have to pick a day and jump. The overlap is the point.
- 1
Export what you have
Pull your client list out of Booksy and send us your service menu — a screenshot of the price list is enough. You do not need to tidy it first.
- 2
We set it up for you
Services, prices, durations, opening hours and your team, entered and checked before you go live. You look at it and tell us what is wrong.
- 3
Run both, then switch the link
Keep Booksy going while appointments already in it play out. When you are happy, point your booking link, Instagram and Google profile at Bookka. Nothing gets cancelled and rebooked.
